San Francisco—September 12, 2008, TechWeb and O'Reilly Media, Inc., co-producers of the annual Web 2.0 Summit and the global Web 2.0 Expo event series, today announced the second annual Web 2.0 Expo Europe, a conference for Web 2.0 leaders and technologists who are building, leveraging, and driving the European Web economy. Web 2.0 Expo Europe, scheduled for October 21-23, 2008, will be held at a new venue, the Berliner Congress Center in Berlin, Germany.

Web 2.0 Expo is a major gathering of technical, design, marketing, and business professionals, from all across Europe and the US. Sample themes that will be discussed at this year's conference include Financing your Start-up, Mobile 2.0, Cloud Computing, and Social Network Advertising. Conference organizers have redesigned Web 2.0 Expo Europe to address the dynamic culture of Web 2.0 and lessons learned from the 2007 event.

"We have merely scratched the surface of the potential that lies within the Web 2.0 ecosystem," said Tim O'Reilly, founder and CEO of O'Reilly Media. "Web 2.0 has incredible potential for not only our personal and professional use but within the political and social domain."

Several new additions to the Web 2.0 Expo Europe program include key networking events, which will allow attendees to develop personalized discussion groups among fellow attendees. Ideas, techniques and business models presented at the conference are designed to be applied by all delegates—whether corporate, start-up, or independent—across different markets and situations.

Web 2.0 Expo Europe is one of five key Web 2.0 conferences organized by O'Reilly and TechWeb, which include Web 2.0 Summit and Web 2.0 Expo events in San Francisco, New York and Tokyo.
